The Animal Control Officer may be reached by calling the Hampden Police Department. Day to day animal complaints are handled by the on duty police officer. Once an animal is picked up it is brought back to the Public Safety Building and held for a few hours to see if anyone calls and reports it missing. After that the animal is transported by the Animal Control Officer to Carsons Animal Shelter.
Domestic animal complaints are handled by the police department. Wild animal complaints are handled by the Maine Wardens Service who can be contacted through their Bangor office at 941-4440
